Pork Belly Buffet

Who doesn't love a restaurant where your allowed to draw on the walls!?! I just wished I had my 60D and a couple of sharpies. Sorry for the poor quality, all the pictures were taken with my Blackberry. I blame A for all of my forgetfulness. We were starving at 10pm so we decided to head down to the West End to pick up Flex and pig out at the Pork Belly Buffet.

The Pork Belly Buffet is a Korean BBQ all-you-can-eat restaurant tucked away in the corner of the West End, its a discreet little place that is run by some interesting characters. The place specializes in Pork Belly and that's all you get. This is very similar to what I had in restaurants when I was in Seoul. They serve the raw Pork Belly with side dishes of onions, mushrooms, garlic, kimchi, Korean dipping sauce and baskets of lettuce. You are suppose to grill the meat and the veggies and once the food is cooked you wrap the items in lettuce and stuff it in your mouth. Its quite delicious. Just make sure you don't start a fire because I don't think the restaurant has a fire extinguisher. Also you might want to make sure you have no other social plans after dinner because the place has no ventilation at ALL. You will definitely be smelling like grease when you leave the place.

I actually really enjoyed myself at the Pork Belly Buffet, its basically a hole in the wall and they probably won't pass any type of safety and health inspections if they were to get inspected again, but when we were there at 10pm the place was packed and very lively for a Tuesday night! The main decoration of the place is the Graffiti that covers every inch of the wall space available and we can not forget the grease that's caked onto the ceiling!

I also love how they only serve Korean beer and Soju with a self-serve Cola section, but Flex was feeling a little uneasy about the ice being left out in the open so he just stuck to the bottled beers. And to "help" with the ventilation they also have a fan by the door. I will definitely come back and bring my two besties that I went to Korea with because I know they will really appreciate this place and the authentic Korean service.

Oh by the way E you should check out this place with B. I think you guys will get a kick out of the experience.
