Vancouver Foodster - Tasting Plates

So a bunch of us attended the 2nd Annual Downtown Edition of Vancouver Foodster Tasting Plates. It was a cold night, but good thing it didn't rain! The whole day I was anticipating for the start of this tasty event and by 5pm I was starving and super excited to visit all the participating restaurants and just start eating!

We started our night off at Zachary's on Robson with C
ajun dusted Potato Balls infused with maple smoked bacon, red onion, cheddar cheese & fresh dill. Citrus tinged Mighty Meatballs and a Scallops Poutine. It was definitely a good start, kind of warmed us up for the brisk walk to the other restaurants!

Our second stop was at the Red Card Sports Bar & Eatery they served up a Poutine Italiano, Margherita Flatbread and an Italian Sausage Flatbread. Next we hit up the Soho Road Food truck where I had a very tasty Butter Chicken Naan Kebab.

Stopped by the Vancouver Fanclub to grab some quick Mac & Cheese and some Wings.

With all that walking in the cold, we warmed up at Betty on Burrard where they served Banana Bread, Gluten free Oreos and a variety of spiked coffees!

So on to more food! Our next stop was at Lolita's Cantina with a tasting plate consisting of Slow roasted beer braised Beef Taquitos, Pulled achiote Chicken and Spinach Flautists wrapped in blue corn tortillas, and Crispy Quinoa and Corn Fritters with charred cherry tomato and zucchini mojo. This stop was definitely delicious!

So much walking, but so worth it once we arrived at Le Tigre Food Truck ran by Clement Chan who competed on Top Chef Canada Season 3, I can't wait to watch it now! This was probably one of my favourite stops because the Seafood Miso Chowder he served sure warmed me up.

The Pink Elephant Thai was our last stop before dessert and by then we were all pretty stuffed. Their tasting menu consisted of a Alberni mango wrap, Shrimp ball, Green curry chicken with noodles and Larb pork with crispy wontons.

Finally! Onto dessert. Our last stop for the night was at Soirette Macaron & Tea and we had Coconut and Braised Pear Mousse Macaron a  Pink Grapefruit & Jasmine Tea Pâte de Fruit and Thyme Sablé. Ahh what a delicious night. I will definitely be back to get macarons for S, her birthday is coming up!

Bye for now.
